Will Nippon Steel Corporation's (NSC's) acquisition of US Steel close before 1 January 2025?

On 18 December 2023, NSC and US Steel announced the former would acquire the latter in an all-cash deal valued at about $15 billion, which the two expect "to close in the second or third quarter of calendar year 2024" subject to US Steel shareholder approval (US Steel, BBC).
