One consequence of President Biden's surprise pardon of his son, Hunter, is that Hunter Biden is no longer afforded the protection of the Fifth Amendment right against self-incrimination for the matters pardoned (Newsweek, US News & World Report, News Nation). A subpoena issued by either house of Congress, including any congressional committees, will count (Cornell - Subpoena). A mere invitation to testify before Congress will not count.
